Therapy for First Responders

Individual and couples counseling designed for the realities of first responder life.

Individual Therapy

First responders often need a different kind of therapy. The stress, long shifts, dark humor, and constant exposure to hard situations can make it difficult to feel understood by someone who hasn't been around the job.

Working as a Co-Responder with Law Enforcement for over four years gave me firsthand experience with the realities you face - both on calls and at home. I provide confidential, practical therapy for First Responders that focuses on what actually helps: better sleep, healthier coping, stronger relationships, and feeling more like yourself again.

If you're feeling burned out, on edge, emotionally shut down, or disconnected from the people you care about, therapy can be a place to slow things down and reset. My approach is direct, collaborative, and grounded in the real-world demands of First Responder life. â€‹â€‹

Couples Therapy

Loving a First Responder can be both meaningful and exhausting. Long shifts, unpredictable schedules, and exposure to trauma can slowly create distance between partners. What feels like "just part of the job" to one person can feel lonely or confusing to the other.

Many First Responder couples find themselves struggling with the same things: trouble communicating, emotional shutdown, irritability, feeling disconnected, or arguing about issues that never seem to get resolved.

In couples therapy, I help you understand how the stress of the job affects your relationship - and how to protect your connection anyway. We focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and learning practical ways to support each other without resentment or burnout.

This work isn't about choosing between the job and your relationship. It's about helping both of you feel like you're on the same side again.
